Inspired by vintage yellow taxis, this 33 HI features an all-leather vibrant yellow upper with black and chrome accents, calling back to the rounded fenders and grilles that were predominant in the taxi cabs of that era. The heel features a custom Ewing license plate logo and to tie it all together, the toe box features the iconic checkerboard pattern that became the trademark of the iconic NYC checker cab. Each pair of sneakers is presented in a special co-branded “I Love NY” box exclusively designed for this collection. The flagship Ewing Athletics shoe, the 33 HI is an exact retro of the 1990 original, and features a classic reversible ankle strap that can be worn on the front or back of the shoe, full nubuck upper and a full length PU midsole for cushioning and a rubber outsole.
